Community Involvement

Community involvement is a large part of our mission.  We're engaged and connected with the community in the following ways:

  • The Michigan State University Extension Master Gardener Program has recognized our garden as an approved project. This provides an opportunity for Master Gardeners to gain service hours and the community to attend educational sessions.

  • An Eagle Scout candidate will be overseeing the building and preparation of the garden boxes.

  • Boy Scout Troop 202 will assist in preparing the field for planting.

  • Four of the Caledonia Community Schools will start growing our seeds in their greenhouses.

  • Classes will be available to educate the community about canning, freezing and preserving the fall harvest.

  • Fresh produce is provided to the local ACCESS 6 Food Pantry feeding approximately 28 families each month.
